The weather has been fantastic the last few days!! Now we're hoping it will hold on for May long weekend ... We're heading out to Cross Lake Provincial Park next weekend with some family and friends. Should be a great time! I really like this park, the walking trails, playgrounds, beach, and sites are all very nice. And we have power, which makes me a happy camper ;) We're leaving Friday afternoon and home Monday!
The kids and I seemed to have a busy week last week, as compared to the past few months! Just visiting and out and about more! I think we're getting out of the house more, because I'm starting to feel a lot better (phew)! I was telling some friends last night that the best way I can describe it is to say I'm starting to feel human again!! Still a bit nauseous throughout the day and a few sick to my stomach episodes, but much, much better than weeks 8 to 13!! I haven't stopped the diclectin yet, I'm a bit too nervous to try that! I have a Dr. appointment on Monday afternoon, so hopefully I'll get the results from my ultrasound and blood test that I had last week.
I had an awesome day yesterday. I went for a massage at Sweet Momma - a pregnant ladies Heaven on Earth :) Then I met some of my New Mom's Group friends at Brenda's Paint Pot. I painted 2 pieces, 1 bear holding the letter E and 1 bear holding the letter B. It was a lot of fun! After painting, we went out for supper to Chianti's (sat on the patio!) and then for coffee at Starbucks! It was a very nice, relaxing afternoon/evening! Cal and the kids spent some time outside after afternoon naps and enjoyed the weather too!
We've been wondering if Blake is ready to give up his afternoon nap. It's so hard to decide, but we're thinking of trying to cut it down in length first before cutting it totally out. He's so tired in the afternoon, that I can't imagine him not having a nap. I think if we kept him up, he'd just end up falling asleep on the floor or the couch anyways! He always falls asleep within 2 minutes of going down for his nap, so I'm pretty sure he still needs some form of an afternoon nap! If we let him, he would sleep from 1 to 4 pm, or later some days. So for the past few months we've been waking him up at 3. But, now he's taking a lot longer to fall asleep and some nights isn't falling asleep until 9 pm and then getting up at 8 am. Which isn't a really good sleep pattern! This week I think I'll try waking him up 1 1/2 hrs into his nap and see if we can't get him back to falling asleep at 8pm and waking up around 7 or 7:30 am. Blake had his 3 yr pediatrician check up on Friday morning. He now weighs 39 lbs (95 %tile) and is 40" tall (90 %tile)!! No wonder he's wearing size 4 clothes!! The pediatrician didn't have any concers, other then we are getting another referral to the E.N.T. because when we saw him when Blake was 1 he said he might remove Blake's extra sinus (the small hole near his ear) when Blake was 3. So we'll see how that turns out. I'm hoping that if it does need removing, we can have it done before the baby is born and we get a lot busier!! Blake's been a bit "naughtier" then usual the past couple of weeks ... not sure why?! Now, a lot of times when I ask him to do something, for example Blake please eat your lunch, he'll say to me, you eat your lunch!!! WHAT?!!? How do kids get away with that these days??! Geez!!! It's challenging that's for sure, but with a few more time outs and hopefully Mom remaining calm we'll get through it!! lol! Oh the 2's and 3's ... wait who am I kidding, I'm sure it's not just the 2's and 3's ... there's new challenges at every age I'm sure :)
Emerson used to wake up at 7 or 7:30 am, but for the past week she's been waking up at 6 am!! It's so much harder to get up before 7!!! But she's sleeping 12 to 12 1/2 hours a night, so we can't complain and I know anything after 6 is a "normal" wake-up time. She's still taking 2 naps, not sure when she'll drop that morning nap! Thankfully, she hasn't been having too many temper tantrums the last few days (knock on wood ...)! Pretty much every morning and after every nap, she's standing in her crib. We keep forgetting to take her mobile out, but we better do that before she pulls on it too hard!!
They finally hired someone for my position on Friday. That took about 4 weeks longer than they told me it would! I'm glad the new person is actually a great friend of mine! Hopefully she'll enjoy the job as much as I did! I'm now only working Tuesdays. Cal has became a lot busier at work and has been covering his bosses position and taking 2 days a week off was getting to be too much. I really enjoy working 1 day a week ... who wouldn't?!
Have a great week everyone, we're off to my parents house for a BBQ :)
xoxo Cal, Tracy, Blake, Emerson and Baby
PS: For some reason I can't spell check on here anymore and I don't have time to edit, so sorry for the typo's ...
